Support Earthquake Relief in Turkey and Syria Through our Donation Drive

Earlier this month, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck the nations of Turkey and Syria. It was one of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded in these countries. The quake has caused a very large amount of damage, and it is still unknown how many people have lost their lives.

With students all over the world, including Turkey, Engoo is a member of the global community, and we want to do what we can to help those who have been affected by this tragedy. After thinking about how to allow our tutors to easily contribute to the relief efforts, we have decided to run a donation drive for three days in the month of February.

How it works

The drive will run on February 15, 16 and 17 JST. Engoo will donate 20 JPY ($0.15) for every lesson conducted on those days, so any tutor can help by simply opening lesson slots and teaching lessons during the drive.

All proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross Society, where the money raised will be used to help provide life-saving assistance to all those affected.

As usual, all donations will come from the company — nothing will be deducted from your lesson fee — so please help out by conducting as many lessons as you can during the drive.

If you would also like to make a personal donation, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have set up a fundraising campaign to help provide assistance to those affected by the earthquakes. You can find IFRC’s international fundraising page here.

Your efforts make a difference

As global citizens, we can work together to become a positive force for support and change anywhere in the world. We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to everyone affected by this tragedy and our deepest thanks to all of our tutors for helping us to support those who need it most right now.
