So it's time to go into the actual uses, which depend on the context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Filler_word\"><\/span><strong>Filler word<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most common usage of \"you know\" <strong>has no meaning<\/strong>. It is a great example of words simply used to fill a silence when the speaker does not know exactly what to say. Just like \"you know,\" it looks like a question, but the speaker is not expecting a reply.
